nice app but on a literal term of using gps as a speedometer. if you are to use a program like this as your main speedometer you must use caution because these are not accurate. the ONLY way a gps speedometer is accurate is if it is a flat surface. a gps cannot take depth into consideration in the speed. for example, it will read your actuall speed wrong if your going up an incline or down an incline. which is almost everywhere.

i appreciate the input. i however live in texas and there's no inclines anywhere on the road that at about 65 miles and hour that it will affect this app to show me wrongful speed. and the gps also reads altitude as well as speed. I doubt that this app does the mathmatical calculations to account for the tiny minute change in readings that may come across to throw you off, but.......good looking out.

not to dissagree with you man but i took a trip to the outer banks this summer using my gps on my tilt and west verginia is nothing but hills and it was about 1mph off the whole entire time so idk if maybe it depends on the gps itself?!?

well you have to look at it a few ways, for example your view point on a hill and the view point of gps. if your going across a flat plane the gps has no trouble reading your position, but when you look at going up or down a hill theres a second variable gps can't calculate that variable, though it may be small its still there.

like i said man i agree with you because if you look from the top down on a hill it looks like a straight line but in fact it would take longer to get up it i agree but idk if maybe they got some tricks up their sleve...or maybe like a predictive read...like if you are going 65 and all of the sudden it sees you go 40 it might have like topography readings that tell it its on a hill idk man lol

i don't really have the time or the energy to describe the actual mathmatics and workings of an actual global positioning satellite system but they are capable of telling within one tenth of a nanometer in distance changes, be that in distance of length or altitude. Mind you that your personal device isn't powerful enough to accurately display such readings but even if you are going straight down (as if you jumped off a cliff) it will read the speed in which your actual position is changing in relation to the satellite. I have been using this app for approximately a year now and have had my doubts (when it was reading different than my car speedometer) but found out one day when on cruise control going from state to state that when i got radared and pulled over by an officer, that the speed on the ticket read exactly the same as on my ppc, not my car speedometer. So it's quite possible that it's more acurate.

you know what this application is great for is boats... I have been using garmin as my speedo on my boat but this is much easier to read... thanks I dig it.. on your boat you dont have to worry about being level, on water you are always treading a straight level path..

friend of mine's speedometer went out and this was all he used for like 3 months. Even tried to pass it off as a legal alternative when he went to get his inspection done! lol

with my old one i use to chase cars down the street turned out that particular one averaged about 35 miles per hour. since yours is brushless depending on the vehicle type and the number of turns its probably around 45 mph

there is an app here on Wckediden called g-force, g-scale, or something like that that not only will take and record the top speed but will also measure the amount of g's u pull as well!

im guessing you have the car? those will go 60... i had a nitro one that went i think 80.... until i ran it into the curb.. put it this way all that was left was pieces. i couldn't even return it because you could hardly tell what it was. if you get a nitro car you HAVE to replace the plastic with carbon or metal or you miles well throw it away. but yeah the traxxas speed setups are about average. i use to be hot and heavy into them but then it started costing me more money then i could put out. lolz ive torn a lot of shat up. but yeah the g meter might work. but do you really trust attaching your phone to it?

i'll give the gmeter a try.
haha i love hearing what people crash into. then you tried to return it? lol nice. yes i have the stampede vxl. setup for on road. i trust my driving. been in this hobby for years building and racing nitros. first brushless. my wrecking days are over unless someone else is running with me thats doesn't know how to drive. i to have a couple nitro kits that do 80 plus, they were radar gunned. but no gun anymore. all i'll be doing is drag passes. thanks peace

love this app.........found this and some other apps on a site that has said it's been down for construction for over 2 years now.....wish it would go back up. It had a bunch of severely original apps, skins, and mods that have yet to be seen anywhere else.

Like this one too...

This was one of my very first posts on Wckediden. In fact I posted it via my PPC-6700. At the time I also posted it over at XDA and just happened to come across it and found out that it's had some play. Even a youtube video made for it and gave me props on it over at fuzemobility.
