im updating new radio now. the sd card is much easier than with the comp. thanks for the info! ill let you know if the gps works after!

all you have to do now is soft reset.

make sure you are in a clear area and outside.... the first time you connect it can take up to 10 minutes.... and what are you using that it isnt working..... try google maps if you arent.

I am trying to use google maps. I let it try to connect until it said it can't connect. do I have to turn it on in settings or something? or change it? that's the only thing left to fix then ill have it how I want it.

check your gps setings. it should be com 4 and baud rate 4800 and manage gps automatically

yep i got those settings...maybe when i flashed to the rom it didnt unlock for some reason? the whole flashing went really smooth with no hicups or anything. so i dont think thats the problem...maybe im just not meeant to have a gps phone haha

well since you're alltel, it's a different way to set up your gps i think. i knwo with verizon you gotta do something. i forgot. you should google on how to set up gps on ur alltel phone

ok. i didnt know there was a location setting haha. and it was off. so i thought that would help. but no. now i have a blue dot for the gps but no other info like satalite or anything on google maps

update...so when i run the gps now i just get a blue blinking dot in the middle of the ocean and it says searching for satalites...what if i try flashing to the alltel rom release with gps unlocked? then back to take 3? or can i not go back to an alltel rom after flashing to a custom one?

on a side note..is it possible to change Kaos' guy flicking me off picture on bootup to whatever i want?

i used to have gps problems also, try getting a connection with live search first (it usually locks where googlemaps doesnt) and then try googlemaps, it should pick it up now

could the problem be that before i flashed to the take 3, i did not go to the stock sprint? after i unlocked my alltel mogul, i went straight to the take 3...but it was the take 3 alltel version. hopefully this is the problem..and not the internal gps

ok so i flashed to the new alltel 6.1 rom with gps enabled. so ill try this out when i get outside tomorrow. should i relock it since i went back to an alltel rom? or does it matter?

ok i need fast help. im flashing back to take 3. i formatted the card to fat32. renamed the file. and when i manually put the phone into bootloader it says loading, then goes to the rainbow screen.. and does nothing.

so many continuing posts...but i was able to just flash it with activesync thanks. so hopefully the gps works now after being on the alltel rom with gps....one thing tho...the alltel rom was 3.50 and the one from Kaos says 3.49, so does that mean the alltel one was better?

ok so i fixed it. it wasnt the rom or the phones fault. it was the gps. i left it over night to try and get locked. and it did. but to anyone who has this problem, i found a solution that makes locking easy...

this is from PPC geeks, i give them all the credit. it works great now. locks within seconds inside my house with 4+ satalites.

whenever i try to run the player which is TCPMP it says "unexpected program failure. please send 'crash.txt' tto thee developers. program will now exit"

any ideas as to why?

i have all the latest codecs and the flash bundle. so im stumped.

question: Im running this rom on my mogul with alltel. and the Player doesnt seem to be working..im guessing its TCPMP. when i try to run it i get the error. "Unexpected program failure. Please send "crash.txt" to the developers. Program will now exit"
id really like to use this for watching movies. it wont let me delete it either. it doesnt show up in the installed programs. Also, i cant seem to get youtube or anything working. i searched around. found a few ways. tried them and it didnt work. i installed flashbundle for my phone but it still did not work.

When you flashed, did you pull the battery for a minute and and then do a hard reset? If you did, how long have you been running this rom since you flashed while installing and uninstalling programs?

yes when i flashed to the take 3 i pulled the battery out and hard reset. ive been using this rom for a month or so installing and uninstalling stuff. maybe ill try take 5 again. i just didnt like that it runs on sprint.

Well, if you want, try a hard reset first with your current ROM. It'll give you a fresh start:)

yeah its faster now. but youtube still wont work. even after installing flashvideobundle. ive looked around and i cant seem to get it to work...the only way it will work is from skyfire. but that worked before

i have unlocked my touch pro! I still cant get it to change roms? After unlocked, i downloaded the rom, then transfered it to the sd disk then installed disk in phone. Did a hard reset, after tri-color shows up on screen.......nothing eles happens! Am i doing something wronge? Im tryin to do it from usb drive, using vista, but after reading a couple of post. Others are complaing that they are having problems tryin to do it using vista, thats why i rather do it from sd drive......again can anyone help.....Thanks.....? P.S. Whats a good rom that i should download that will give me my moneys worth out of this pro....thanks!

Wow bro read the firsts post carefully. This is a mogul rom. You keep tryin to flash it to a pro and youll brick your phone.

Hey guys. Love this rom. It's super fast! I noticed that the first time I flashed from a Sprint Rom I didn't have the option of installing the alltel specific programs like Alltel Navigation, getmail, etc but when I flashed from the stock alltel rom I got the option to install it all. Why does that happen? (asking only b/c Im curious lol)

Also, I notice there's no picture messaging with this rom. Don't know if it's been covered already, but is it supposed to be that way?

you sound like you are with alltel and on an alltel mogul. you will need to use the dcd carrier cab for alltel, the alltel arcsoft mms cab, for your internet and gps settings as well as your mms. and for the the apps themselves you would have ot download the cab file which you will be able to find on google.... search for the names of the stock programs that you need amd you will find :) let me know if you got furthew qwuestions because this might not make full sense in the way i worded it

The DCD carrier can is for your internet. It will change all your phones internet settings to your carrier specific info.

I just leave it alone and it goes away. But one time, I selected USB-Serial connection and set it to not ask again. Now the only way my phone will charge is at my computer!

I've tried to put the settings back to the original in nueUSB, but it still won't work.

just uninstall newusb and than reinstall..... theres an option at the bottom of that screen where you choose and that says dont ask me again and you prolly had to of had that checked.

That makes sense. Problem is that when I go to uninstall programs, nueUSB isn't listed. In fact, the only program listed is the Arcsoft MMS app that I installed to get picture messaging. Everything else came with the rom.

download and install sktools and you can uninstall that through the program.
