each phone seems to be different and has thier own unique "issues" the phone might have worked because it "forgot" it was running another rom or the phone still had reg entries to run quickgps, then it caught up to its self and stopped working.

by any chance are you in canada? this will work with telus or bell since nfsfan is with them...... if you are with any other provider you need to install that cab which overwrites the registry written for bell and turns it into your carriers thus why the cabs attached in the ifrst post. (just merely change registry around)

i now my gps always works fine after i install my carrier cab, usually ill use the gps viewer included in nfsfan rom and then let it get a lock, and that it my gps always works, i do download quickgps too since i prefer it, but never had any gps probs and have been using nfs roms since 0105! :laie_18:

You gotta install the GPS cab and the provisioning cab for you service provider, both can be found at the bottom of the first post. Also, if you have, try going into you comm manager and manually turning on data connection. That worked for me.

i loaded provisioning cab but i did not see the gps cab also i did turn on the data in the comm manager but no go!

PS this is a stupid question but what is the correct way after i download the carrier cab to get it in my phone as that took me an hour plus? do i do it threw the explorer folder in the active snyc

Just hook your phone up to your computer and either go through the "my computer" screen on your PC or go throught the active synce explorer. I would format your SD card to have a folder designated for just cabs. Thats what I do. A folder for cabs, a folder for themes, and a folder for UI

Once you flash the rom you need to install the carrier cab , then once that is installed run the Update PRL your internet should work for you.

well now i'm confused as i went to the link and it was another ROM ? but i just need to update the PRL can find it i'm running the NFSFAN newest rom and it's cool but no PRL update option also on another note i tried to download you new ROM but NO GO?

could be a radio issue. try flashing a different radio. also look through the first thread on xda i believe. maybe some one has reported similar problems.I mean only other way i could see this happening is if you lost msid and mdn. if those are good. then maybe it wasn't meant to be try another rom.


personally i don't care for nsfan as a person . But i wont go into detail. i don't run his stuff.

try flashing back to stock via .exe file, run that for a few hours, then flash back to this.

on that last part i hear you there too....... still ticks me off what he did back in the day and such.... have ran his stuff and but dont like doing it... dont have to worry about that with gokus new rom out :)

that would be incorrect. my background is computer science from the 80's. i have a BS in computer science and my training was done on mainframes. Pc's were first hitting the market when i graduated in 1987.

So I had been stating for a while that I kept getting this reoccuring issue with the bluetooth notification. I still don't know what is causing it to keep telling me that bluetooth is on, but I have noticed that it isn't something isolated to this rom. Maybe its something in my phone cuz I have installed the gss rom and right now I am on the demolition rom and I am still having the same issue. Funny enough though on the gss rom I was getting the notification "do you want to turn of bluetooth yes or no" while on this rom and the demolition rom it just tells me "bluetooth on". Does anyone know what could be wrong with my phone? If it isn't the roms what could it be. It must be somethin I did cuz my friends phone is doin the same thing. I flashed hers as well and she is on the nfsfan (latest version). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

do you have bluetooth file explorer checked? if so then uncheck it since you dont want that icon from appearing.

the problem originates with the tachi dialer. in it's orignal form, it disables the bluetooth icon. there is a patch that was incorporated in the rom to fix that. part of the patch is that, for some reason, the notifications keep telling you that the bluetooth icon is on. i used to have a different fix that fixed the fix but i've lost it and can't remember where i got it.

so. as long as you're using the tachi dialer (which unfortunately, is incorperated in his roms) you will have an issue with the bluetooth icon.

i've tried different ones but since his is cooked in, i can't figure out how to get rid of it and install a new one so it works properly. i can get them to work sortof but not 100%.

perhaps one of the more knowledgeable folks here can assist in removing it and getting another one to work properly??

i would guess those guys are also using the tachi dialer. like it said, if it's cooked in, i'm not sure how to dump it for a normal dialer. personally, i don't like the tachi version.

If i were u bro i wouldnt delete any files that are cooked in any rom u mess with that and the rom will get messed up ,i have a different dialer on my touch pro im running this rom as well just install a cab that will change ur dialer .

i have read through the thread and don't see anything on this, but, i have this rom install and when i try to connect to my gmail account which i set up, i get a cannot connect bubble, that says "cannot connect with current connection settings. to change your connections settings tap settings, when i go into the setting it has my connection for #777. anyone know how to fix, connecting to the internet with opera and IE seems to work fine.
