If I do this...."HTC DIAMOND
From Stock To Custom:

1. Unlock phone using hardspl found here: https://www.wckediden.com/show...iamond+hardspl
2. download rom of your choice
3. drag the nbh file into the diamond RUU (most come with RUU already)
4. Run romupdateutility.exe
5. Follow steps through wizard

Custom to Custom
USE STEPS 2-5 ABOVE"

Will I then be able to use a custom ROM to resolve my battery issues? If that is the case which 'Juicy' version should I use, and where can I find instructions for the install itself? I know where the ROM release section is in the side tool bar. Will I have apps that don't get reloaded or need to be reloaded? If that happens where and how do I do this too? Mucho thanks in advance. Oh and one last thing....I have a Diamond Touch, is this the same as the Diamond referred to above? If it isn't then I am still lost in the woods.

i dunno mucha bout diamonds but i know dash always suggest using the latest juicy rom. the touch diamond is just the longer name of the diamond. people don't call it touch diamond probably cuz it's too long and they get lazy lmao. you already have the directions to install a rom so follow them. download the .nbh file and drop into ruu folder and then flash. but before that, remember to unlock

than look to your left on the side menu and than go to rom releases and you will find many of them....... just be sure it says that it will work with your mogul :>

you will be fine i have always flashed with mine on....... when your in bootloader it doesnt matter....

you will be fine with the 1 gigger, it just has to be under 2 gigs.

I have an HTC Touch Pro in the US on the Sprint PCS network.

I have followed the instructions and I have installed Hard SPL correctly on the machine.

I'm now trying to follow this, but where is the ruu.zip attachment? Where is the link to the ROMUpdateUtility.exe? What is the best ROM and best radio that I should install to improve performance on this thing? I had to use the manualSSPL to install the HARDSPL software originally - will I need to do that to install the ROM?

I"m just confused since some of these sites talk about holding volume down with a reset button, some with the power button. Very confusing...


Touch Pro

How to Flash Via PC:

1.download the ruu.zip attachment
2.unzip to your desktop
3.then in the newly created RUU directory add the rom of your choice - (copy the RUU_Signed.nbh to desktop\RUU)
4.Place phone in bootloader mode (power button while holding volume down button)
5.open the ROMUpdateUtility.exe
6.follow the RUU on screen instructions from there

OK, I found this: the RUU.zip file on the ppcsgeeks site (can't post the link for some reason since I"m a newbie poster)).

So, I think i have that.

But I"m still not clear about the bootloader mode or what ROM to load..

If the machine is on, and I hold the volume down and the power button, it gives me a warning that power will be lost and I may lose data if I have not saved them. (basically shuts down the phone), not right.. So that doesn't seem to be the right thing to get it into bootloader mode. I have the manualsspl.exe - can I use that?

Still not clear what ROM or Radio I should load assuming I did what is described above.

Just wait for Kaos to finish his rom. It is by far the best, Your patience will be greatly rewarded. And your current radio should be fine. And the rom update utility will put it in bootloader mode when you run it with the new ROMs .nbh file in the folder. Thats the way I always do it.

Also, the reason why I'm curious about the radio is that the GPS has never worked very reliably. VERY slow to capture location. I was kind of hoping that an updated radio might fix that.

What is expected to be in or not in this ROM? I"m also curious abuot what people think about 3dFLow? I personally hate it and have been experimenting with other launchers like Winterface. Is the UI expected to be based on 3dFLOW?

I downloaded the dot NetFx35 set up thing and i was reading over and over how to do this thing and it's not clicking.. could someone please help a brutha out ya dig... thanks in advance... i really need this rom in my life... im already sick of stock and ive never gone custom... :dwarf:

just run the unlocker following the steps and it will auto place you in bootloader and than comes the rom.... and the ruu is easily found the link is below..... and also you can flash from the storage card for your touch pro by renaming the nbh file to RAPHIMG.nbh and than dragging that to a fat32 formatted 2 gig card or less and manually placing in bootloader with the process you mentioned above..

all you do is format your card freshly again to FAT32 and than drag the nbh file only to the card and than manual bootloader..... a message will come on the screen and just follow what it tells you to do.

hahaha aight all you have to do is insert it into your card reader on your computer than right click and go to format than FAT32is the option that you want... if you havent used it at all than you will still be formatted and have no problems.

do you have the card inserted and did you manually place in bootloader again by pressing and holding the volume down button, the power button, and the middle circle while sof resetting than you will be fine.

You need a FUZE RUU and a FUZE ROM. If you need the RUU let me know and I'll attach it for you. I also have the unlocker if you need it.

I am a little confused so going to ask questions during the process.
1) I downloaded your zip to my desktop and unzipped
2) I ran the RaphaelHardSPL-Unsigned_190_1_3 program. Everything seemed to go fine and my phone rebooted, everything said things were good.

now do I click and run the CustomRUU file?

I forgot to add that I also have downloaded Da_G-ATT-Fuze-Cooked-Beta-1.7-MSVC-Dec-3-2008 which is Dash's ROM for the FUZE. So I am still at the point I posted above and unsure of what to do next. Thanks.

UPDATE - the custom ROM installed and the phone is back up and running at a basic set up. I am now downloading all the cabs of the programs I want to reinstall including mobile shield, etc. I will post back once I get it back to the programs I had before and how it is running!

But - I did not brick it, lol!!!!

A progress bar should show up. If it doesnt, restart the romupdate utility while your phone is in bootloader(tricolor) mode.

i have unlocked my touch pro! I still cant get it to change roms? After unlocked, i downloaded the rom, then transfered it to the sd disk then installed disk in phone. Did a hard reset, after tri-color shows up on screen.......nothing eles happens! Am i doing something wronge? Im tryin to do it from usb drive, using vista, but after reading a couple of post. Others are complaing that they are having problems tryin to do it using vista, thats why i rather do it from sd drive......again can anyone help.....Thanks.....? P.S. Whats a good rom that i should download that will give me my moneys worth out of this pro....thanks!

ya if your doing it from the sd card you have to manually go into bootloader...now sure how to do it on the pro...i think it's power,volume down, and camera and hold it...someone with a pro correct me if i'm wrong....

i never liked doing it that way through sd card.Easier way with no problem is to get a stock rom.Extract the file, remove the "RUU_signed.nbh" from the stock rom.Then download the custom rom of your choose, put that same ruu_signed.nbh from the custom rom inside that folder then run the rom update utility.

easy as 1,2,3

did you rename the file to RAPHIMG.nbh beofre you placed the phone in manual bootloader?

it installs all the programs listed in the thread...you don't have to use all the programs...you can choose...i would personally skip that and manually do it your self.

if your talking the stock alltel rom than if you dont let it customize you wont have any of the alltel stuff including mms...... you will still have wmp since that is built into the rom as the default player.

ya there's no way around that except custom roms which you should go to anyways...why bother with crappy stock....
