Upgrading, Modifying Pocket PC's

Himalaya Windows Mobile 2005 Upgrade Procedure:

What do we Need?

1.ActiveSync4
2.Windows Mobile 2003 Rom-Editor
3.Patch
4.WM2005 OS


What to Install first?

1.Install the ActiveSync4 first,
2.Then install the Windows Mobile 2003 Rom-Editor

NOTE: Your PC's Windows must be Windows XP SP2.


Procedure:


1.Open the "patch1.exe" Photo

2.Click "browse" Photo

3.Select "NK.nbf" Photo

4.Click "Patch" (if the patch return an error .. it means the rom is already been patch) Photo

5.Open "NK.nbf" Photo

6.With Windows Mobile 2003-Rom editor Photo

7.Click the "Operator" scroll down bar Photo

8.Select the Appropriate Operator (if you dont know the operator id...just use modified himaupgradeut_noid.exe) Photo

9.Save the ROM Image and Exit Photo

10.Put the Himalaya to Bootloader Mode Photo

11.Connect the Himalaya directly to USB port and Open the "HimaUpgradeUt.exe" Photo

12.Click ''next" Photo

13.Click "Upgrade" Photo

14.SitBack and Relax while waiting! Photo

15.All Job Done!


16.Now, Without Connecting the Himalaya to PC, delete the old Partnership Photo

17.Connect the Himalaya to PC to Sync... Photo

18.And the Last step is to Hard Reset your Himalaya(Device) Follow the Procudure on the Picture. Photo

Files To be Download:

Windows Mobile 2005-Nk.nbf_Rom File (22.5 MB)

ActiveSync 4 (5.6 MB)

Windows Mobile 2003 Rom-Editor (2.5 MB)

no this is for the listed phone only. each rom is made for a certain phone and if flashed to a different one the phone WILL become bricked. so i wouldnt do it lol.

i would follow dash's advice on this hahaha did it once with my mp3 player, luckily i was able to reflash my original rom overit.

no problem it would be like me putting the treo rom on my touch just wouldnt work since totally different interfaces.
