[NEWS] Apple could take three more years to challenge the Galaxy Z Flip

It’s been close to seven years since Samsung launched its first foldable phone. While Apple hasn’t released a similar device yet, it plans to launch at least three new foldable mobile devices in the next four years. Its first foldable device could launch next year, but its Galaxy Z Flip competitor won’t be available until 2028.



According to revered Korean tipster yeux1122 (via MacWorld), Apple plans to launch three significantly new iPhones in the next three years. The first foldable iPhone is expected to launch in 2026 and will resemble a Galaxy Z Fold 7. It could feature an 8-inch foldable screen that opens into an iPad Mini-like device. The second device will be a completely bezel-free iPhone with an OLED panel that is bent on all four sides.



First flip-style iPhone could rival the Galaxy Z Flip 10 in 2028








The third device is rumoured to be a Galaxy Z Flip 7-like iPhone with a clamshell design. It will feature a sub-7-inch internal foldable display and a simple cover screen that displays essential information and notifications. The decision between a fullscreen cover display, similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 7, or a smaller display, like older Galaxy Z Flip phones, remains uncertain.



If this information is accurate, Samsung has three more years to perfect the Galaxy Z Flip formula. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is a really good flip-style foldable phone, but Samsung can definitely work on increasing the battery life, improving the cameras to match Galaxy S series phones, and removing the crease completely.











All three foldable devices will likely use foldable OLED panels from Samsung Display. It is also working on an 18-inch foldable iPad, featuring a foldable OLED panel from Samsung. Initially planned to launch in 2028, the company has reportedly delayed the launch to 2029 due to design-related issues.
